This vital role involves providing real-time interpretation in various settings, including healthcare, social services, and community programs. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional bilingual skills, a strong understanding of medical and social work terminology, and a passion for helping diverse populations navigate complex systems. Duties Provide accurate, culturally sensitive interpretation for Chinese-speaking clients during in-person appointments across healthcare, social services, and child protective services settings Facilitate effective communication between clients and professionals by translating spoken language in real time Assist with documentation review, ensuring all medical records, social work reports, and legal documents are accurately translated and understood Support compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining confidentiality of all client information Help interpret medical terminology to ensure clients understand diagnoses, treatment plans, and medication instructions Collaborate with social workers and healthcare providers to ensure seamless service delivery for bilingual clients Maintain detailed records of interpreted sessions, including notes on key points discussed and any follow-up actions required Requirements Fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English, with excellent verbal communication skills in both languages Proven experience as an interpreter or translator, preferably within healthcare or social services environments Strong knowledge of medical terminology and documentation review processes Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times Experience with American Sign Language is a plus but not required Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and cultural awareness Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust with clients from diverse backgrounds Prior experience working in hospital settings or child protective services is highly desirable Join our team to empower individuals through effective communication!
