Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Sign Language Interpreter near Denver, CO. This contract position focuses on providing dedicated, 1:1 interpretation services for an elementary student during the school year. You'll play a vital part in making classroom experiences accessible and engaging, working on-site within a collaborative educational environment. Qualifications:
Current EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings Comfortable supporting elementary-age students Ability to work effectively in-person, adapting communication to young learners Strong interpersonal and communication skills High level of professionalism and reliability
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver accurate, expressive, and receptive interpretation between American Sign Language and spoken English for a single elementary student throughout the school day Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers in classroom and school activities Collaborate with educators and support staff to adapt interpreted materials for lessons, assignments, and other educational activities Ensure confidentiality and respect for student privacy at all times Maintain accurate records of interpreting services provided This role offers the chance to make a direct impact in a student's life while working closely with a supportive team of educational professionals. The schedule is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, following the academic calendar from early August through late May.
