Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Bring your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter to empower students across K-8 Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) programs in a vibrant Florida school setting. You'll join a dedicated community, supporting students in their educational journey at one assigned campus—with possible opportunities at additional sites as they become available. Multiple full-time contract positions are offered, with start and end dates from August 10, 2026, to May 27, 2027. Expect meaningful connections—your skills will provide crucial access for students at campuses such as Palm Springs Middle School, DD Eisenhower, Coral Reef Elementary, and Western Pines Middle School. Schedules range from 8:00 am to 4:05 pm, depending on location.
Qualifications:
Level 3 or above on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA 3.6-3.9 or higher) OR current certification through National Association of the Deaf (NAD) or the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), including National Interpreter Certification (CI/CT, CSC, NIC, NIC-A, or NIC-M) Experience interpreting in educational or K-8 settings preferred Ability to submit an unedited, cold interpreting sample as part of the selection process Willingness to complete Florida fingerprinting requirements (with provisions for those previously cleared in-state)
