Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students in a vibrant K-8 educational environment across multiple schools in the Delray Beach area. This contract position is ideal for skilled Sign Language Interpreters who are passionate about empowering students through communication access and direct classroom support. Beginning August 10, 2026, and running through May 27, 2027, you'll have the chance to work full-time across assigned school campuses—supporting one primary site, with potential for additional placements as needs arise. School schedules vary, reflecting middle and elementary hours, with interpreting teams assigned to Palm Springs MS, DD Eisenhower, Coral Reef ES, or Western Pines MS.
Essential Qualifications:
Valid Level 3 or above on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA 3.6-3.9 or higher), or certification with the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) or Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)—including recognized credentials such as CI/CT, CSC, NIC, NIC-A, or NIC-M. Experience with K-8 age range, comfortably adapting to classroom dynamics. Willingness to submit a live, unedited interpreting sample (audio source provided, no pre-review or speed adjustments). Ability to complete time-sensitive fingerprinting and credentialing, including submission of prior records if applicable.
