Sign Language Interpreter in West Palm Beach, FL BlazerJobs - 3.4 West Palm Beach, FL Job Details Full-time | Contract 1 day ago Qualifications Educational interpretation Interpretation American Sign Language Interpretation experience within education industry Full Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into an impactful, dynamic role providing essential support to DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) students in K-8 classrooms across West Palm Beach. Several full-time positions are available for skilled Sign Language Interpreters for the 2026-2027 academic year. Assignments are on-site at one school site, with hours varying depending on placement—options include Palm Springs MS, DD Eisenhower, Coral Reef ES, and Western Pines MS. Your interpreting expertise will help bridge communication in a vibrant educational environment, directly supporting students' learning and engagement. As part of this contract opportunity, you'll be immersed in collaborative school communities and have the chance to make a lasting difference.
Preferred Qualifications:
Level 3 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA 3.6-3.9 or above), or certified through the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) or the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) - (CI/CT, CSC, NIC, NIC-A, NIC-M) Experience working in K-8 educational settings strongly preferred Ability to submit an unprepared interpreting sample if selected to proceed in the hiring process Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism Flexibility to work full-time hours; specific schedules depend on school assignment Meet all Florida credentialing requirements, including fingerprinting (assistance provided for verification through AHCA Clearinghouse, if applicable)
Role Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear, accurate communication between students, staff, and families in DHH classrooms Support student learning by interpreting classroom instruction, discussions, and activities Adapt interpreting style to meet individual student needs Collaborate with teachers and school teams to provide inclusive access This is a contract position with multiple placements available for the 2026-2027 school year.
