Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic contract role utilizing your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter in a supportive educational environment near Adairsville, GA. This opportunity allows you to facilitate clear communication for students and staff, making a tangible difference in the daily classroom experience. Work closely with educators, students, and families, providing essential access and fostering inclusivity throughout the school community.
Qualifications and Experience:
Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in school or educational settings Ability to interpret in both one-on-one and group settings Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and sensitivity to diverse learning needs National Interpreter Certification (NIC) or equivalent credentials highly valued Ability to adapt to varying classroom environments and grade levels Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret spoken language into ASL and ASL into spoken English in classrooms and school activities Support communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring full access to curriculum and school events Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to create an inclusive learning environment Maintain confidentiality and abide by all applicable codes of professional conduct Facilitate understanding of classroom instructions, discussions, and extracurricular activities This contract position will expand your professional network and make a positive impact on the lives of students.
