Job Description
Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available for the 2026-2027 school year in Columbus, GA, within a Muscogee County school district. This onsite role supports students requiring sign language interpretation services from August 3, 2026, through May 21, 2027, with the possibility of additional pre- and post-planning days. Part-time opportunities may also be considered based on hours available.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide clear, accurate sign language interpretation to support classroom communication. Collaborate with educators and staff to facilitate effective learning experiences. Complete daily logs documenting interpreted services, ensuring compliance with district requirements. Participate in interviews to determine the best placement based on age group preferences and experience levels.Qualifications:
Active Georgia Educator Certification for Sign Language Interpreters (SLI). Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher. Availability for full-time hours (minimum 37.5 hours per week); part-time considered depending on caseload. Willingness to work onsite in a school environment. Strong commitment to accurate and ethical interpretation services.Benefits and Perks:
