Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Travel A full-time onsite Sign Language Interpreter position is available in Columbus, GA, supporting a local school district for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role begins August 3, 2026, and concludes May 21, 2027, with possible additional days for pre- and post-planning. Flexible part-time opportunities may be considered, depending on hours available.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality sign language interpreting services to students and staff within the school setting. Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate effective communication and access to curriculum. Maintain accurate daily logs documenting interpreting services and interactions. Participate in interview discussions to determine optimal student age group placement based on experience and preferences.
Qualifications:
Active Georgia Educator Certification for Sign Language Interpreters. EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher. Willingness to work onsite in a school environment in Columbus, GA. Excellent communication and professional skills. Ability to complete required documentation promptly and accurately. This is a non-VOCO position specifically designated for onsite interpreters to meet the district's needs effectively.
