Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding, contract role supporting student success as a full-time Sign Language Interpreter in a vibrant school setting near Cornelia, GA. This position provides dedicated 1:1 assistance for a 7th grade student who is completely deaf and has limited vision, empowering her learning experience within a self-contained classroom. You'll work closely with a collaborative team of educators, ensuring clear, effective communication and meaningful participation throughout the school day.
Position Overview:
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Option for a traditional 5-day schedule or a flexible 2-day (Tuesday/Wednesday) arrangement Serve as a personal ASL interpreter for a middle school student Work alongside teachers and support staff within the classroom to facilitate inclusion and access
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL); Sign Language Interpreter certification required Experience interpreting in educational or pediatric settings strongly preferred Comfort adapting to students with additional needs, including low vision Outgoing, engaging personality with strong interpersonal skills Ability to foster a supportive and communicative learning environment
