Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic Bilingual Clinic Assistant & Interpreter to join our healthcare team! This vital role combines administrative support with professional interpretation services to ensure seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers. You will play a key part in enhancing patient experience, facilitating accurate documentation, and supporting clinical workflows. Responsibilities Act as a bilingual interpreter during medical appointments, translating verbal and written communication accurately between patients and healthcare staff. Assist patients with check-in procedures, including verifying identification and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review and organize medical documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness for each patient encounter. Support clinical staff by managing appointment schedules, coordinating follow-up visits, and maintaining patient flow. Provide culturally sensitive assistance to patients navigating social services such as child protective services or community resources. Maintain confidentiality of all protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA standards. Collaborate with social workers, medical professionals, and administrative staff to ensure effective communication and documentation review. Skills Multilingual proficiency in at least two languages; fluency in Spanish is required. Strong interpretation skills with experience translating medical terminology accurately. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for safeguarding patient privacy. Familiarity with medical records management, documentation review, and healthcare workflows. Experience working within hospital or clinical environments is preferred. Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion; experience with child protective services or social work is a plus.
