Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the classroom by supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing! An exciting full-time opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to work onsite throughout the upcoming academic year. This contract role involves joining a dynamic school environment where your expertise will promote inclusion and enable student engagement in every aspect of the school day. As a valued interpreter, you will: Desired Qualifications and Experience Active Georgia licensure and credentials for interpreting (please provide documentation) EIPA score of 3.5 or above Current Georgia Educator's Certification (documentation required) Previous experience in a school setting highly preferred Professional reliability and dedication to full-time, onsite availability Strong interpersonal and communication skills Key Responsibilities Interpret instructional content and auditory information for assigned students, following them to their classes daily Reteach or re-explain lessons when necessary to promote complete comprehension Support communication during social situations with peers and staff Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere and advocate for accessible learning Collaborate with teachers, aides, and student support staff as part of an educational team Perks and Benefits Consistent Monday-Friday schedule, 37.5 hours per week aligned with the academic calendar Onsite assignment with school breaks and teacher professional development days off Opportunity to contribute meaningfully to student learning and school culture Take the next step in your interpreting career and make a difference where it matters most.
