Revolving Continuation is dependent on satisfactory performance, program needs, and renewal of funds.Duties and Responsibilities :
Under general supervision, teach courses assigned. Assist with the curriculum and instruction of the "Train-the-Trainer for Spoken Language Interpreters" non-credit program. Evening, weekend courses, and distance education courses may be assigned. Ability to communicate clearly and to teach for a variety of audiences, including adult learners and veterans. Teaching assignment is as needed and dependent upon course enrollment Other duties may be assignedMinimum Qualifications :
Demonstrated professional fluency in English and at least one other world language, including advanced oral and written proficiency in both languages and one of the following: Master's degree in a world language or literature of a language other than English OR Master's in Linguistics, ESL, Education, Translation & Interpretation, or another language; OR Bachelor's in Linguistics, ESL, Education, Translation & Interpretation, or another language, plus five years of experience teaching and interpreting in academic, workshop, or other instructional settings. Minimum of five years of experience interpreting in legal, medical, or community settings. Minimum of five years of experience teaching interpreting in academic, workshop, or other instructional settings. Knowledge, skills, ability, and expertise are required in the field.Desirable Qualifications :
Three years of teaching experience at the community college or university level. Demonstrated ability to work with adult and non-traditional learners.
