Medical Interpreter/Translator Lead St. Luke's Health System - 3.5 Boise, ID Job Details Full-time 16 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Interpretation English Mid-level 3 years High school diploma or GED Corrections facility medical clinic experience Mentoring Patient interaction Translation Interpretation experience within healthcare industry Working with individuals with language barriers Leadership Full Job Description Medical Interpreter Translator Lead facilitates clear, accurate and effective medical and general interpretation for healthcare staff, patients, companions and visitors. This includes, but is not limited to, interpretation, and complex scheduling.
What You Can Expect:
Interpret complex medical information to patients and/or companions. Demonstrates knowledge of National Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice for Interpreters in Healthcare. Assesses and monitors patients' understanding of information conveyed. Advises medical personnel about cultural information that may impact patient care. Understands variety of regional accents, linguistic styles and registers. Interprets with highest degree of accuracy and completeness in consecutive, simultaneous and sight translation modes. Self-corrects, understands own linguistic limitations, seeks clarification and accepts corrections. Maintain knowledge with medical and general terminology. Superior fluency in one or more languages in additional to English. Utilize a variety of technology, tools, and resources to support departmental workflows. Cross trained to support multiple functional areas. Serves as a role model, mentor, trainer and/or resource to coworkers Serves as a subject matter expert and may assume leadership responsibility during management absence, as requested. Supports an exceptional experience through all customer interactions, ensuring professional, timely and accurate communication both verbally and in writing. Performs other duties as assigned. Friday, Saturday, Sunday 12 hour shift
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
3 years relevant experience
Certificate:
Minimum 40 Hours of Professional Medical Interpreter Training.
Language Assessment:
Must successfully pass language assessment through St. Luke's Health System prior to hire. AND One of the following -Certified Healthcare Interpreter from Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters OR -Certified Medical Interpreter from The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters
