Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students in need of sign language interpretation services. Positions are available for skilled interpreters ready to assist either high school students (Grades 9-12) or elementary through middle school learners (Kindergarten-8th grade) for the 2026-2027 academic year in a vibrant educational environment.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language with an EIPA Score of 3.5 or higher (proof required; no exceptions) Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational or similar settings Strong understanding of the needs of students who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities Committed to upholding confidentiality and fostering inclusivity Willing to work full-time onsite; fully remote is not available
Responsibilities:
Provide in-class and school-based interpretation for students requiring communication access Collaborate with teachers, educational specialists, and IEP teams to facilitate student learning Adjust interpreting techniques to accommodate varying student group sizes, typically 1-3 students per class (high school) or 1-5 students per class (elementary/middle school) Adhere to scheduling between 8:00am-3:30pm or 8:15am-3:45pm, Monday through Friday, totaling approximately 35 hours per week Maintain consistent, accurate records as required by school leadership
