Position Title:
Medical Interpreter FTE Classification:

The MedicalInterpreter provides language services for patients, as necessary, translating Spanish to English and English to Spanish, and interpreting between staff and patients. Required Education and Training /Knowledge and Skills :
High school diploma or G.E.D., required Bilingual - Spanish/English, written and spoken, including medical terminology, mandatory "Bridging the Gap" Certification, preferred Twelve (12) months' prior clinical, medical experience, preferred Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record ("EMR"), eClinicalWorks ("eCW") a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written in bothEnglish and Spanish Essential Duties :
Translates written and interprets spoken English and Spanish, including medical terminology, during patient encounters and phone calls, and for written informational materials. Functions as a cultural facilitator between patients and providers. Explains cultural differences or practices to patients and health care providers, as needed. Communicates any special patient needs to provider. Scans items into patient charts, as directed. Answers phones, schedules appointments for patients, and responds to patient requests, as appropriate. Pulls and prepares patient charts, and generates patient schedule for assigned provider. Provides patient counseling on specific topics as directed by the Chief Clinical Officer ("CCO") or Chief Medical Officer ("CMO"), as needed. Assists with Prescription Assistance Program applications and follow-up, as needed.Job Type:
