Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Provide full-time, onsite American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services to a PreK student new to the school district in Logansport, IN. This role is focused on delivering 1:1 ASL support throughout the school day, working directly within classrooms to facilitate communication and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver consistent, high-quality ASL interpretation services for a PreK student in a classroom setting. Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support the student's educational and communication needs. Monitor and adapt interpreting strategies to meet the student's evolving requirements throughout the school day. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines for interpreters in educational settings.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Sign Language Interpreter Certification. EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher. Experience interpreting in school environments, preferably supporting young learners. Strong understanding of educational communication techniques and classroom dynamics. Ability to work onsite full time, providing dedicated student support.
