Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Make a difference for students by putting your sign language expertise to work in a supportive educational environment. This contract position is ideal for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter who thrives in one-on-one settings and is passionate about fostering communication and inclusion. You'll play an essential role, working directly with a single student to ensure full access to classroom instruction and activities throughout the 26-27 school year.
Key Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred Familiarity with the needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students Possession of relevant certifications or meeting state requirements for school interpreters Excellent communication, professionalism, and reliability
Role Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation for one student during all classroom instruction, activities, and school events Support the student's comprehension and participation in academic and social settings Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate an accessible learning environment Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards set by interpreting organizations Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the individual needs of the student This position is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, offering you consistent daytime work for the full school year.
