We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Interpreter who can speak Mandarin and Cantonese to facilitate clear and accurate communication between healthcare providers and patients. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to support diverse populations by bridging language gaps and ensuring quality care. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about promoting equitable access to healthcare services. To supervise the Medical Interpreter staff at BIDMC and provide Cantonese and Mandarin and/or Vietnamese interpretation services at BIDMC. To empower BIDMC and South Cove staff to better meet the needs of non-English speaking patients in meetings, workshops, e-mails and telephone calls to identify problematic situation arises and provide appropriate solutions beforehand whenever possible. To recruit, screen, hire and train interpreters and work-study interpreters for target language. To keep accurate statistical data and submits them to CEO at South Cove, Interpreter Manager at BIDMC. To introduce different informational sessions and training within the department and also any outside of the department. To assign daily schedule for interpreters. To coordinate external interpretation. To provide interpretation back-up. To consistently demonstrates SCCHC's mission and values statement. To performs other duties as assigned. Bilingual in Chinese (Mandarin AND Cantonese) Attention to detail, accuracy and neatness Must have strong interpersonal skis to maintain harmonious relationships with all levels of BIDMC and South Cove personnel and patients Must have good verbal and writing skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin AND Cantonese) Able to work effectively in fast-pace, high-pressure environment Must know and understand Medical terms Join us as a Medical Interpreter and play a vital role in delivering accessible healthcare!
