Qualifications English Full Job Description Full-Time, Onsite Position Objective:
We're seeking a Pashto/Dari Medical Interpreter to serve as a vital bridge between our healthcare providers and patients. In this role, the medical interpreter will facilitate effective communication, provide context, and support comprehensive patient care within our primary care setting.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide accurate, real-time medical interpretation between patients and healthcare providers, maintaining the integrity of all communications Support the overall patient experience by assisting with walk-ins, triage, registration, and referral processes Bridge the gap by helping providers understand both verbal and non-verbal cultural differences to ensure quality healthcare delivery Translate medical documents and information in writing for health center staff Connect patients with appropriate community resources Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and complete required health center reports Participate in care coordination and case management to ensure comprehensive patient support
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree or minimum two years of college in a related field Two years of relevant work or volunteer experience Medical Interpreter certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire) Fluency in English and another language common to our patient population Medical Interpreter training
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Prior experience in healthcare or clinical settings Knowledge of medical terminology in multiple languages Experience with electronic health records systems Reports directly to the Medical Interpreter Manager EOE Monday-Friday; 8:00am -4:30pm.
