1:1 Sign Language Interpreter in Annapolis, MD

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a full-time Educational ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreter to support an elementary student in a 1:1 capacity. This contract position is located in Annapolis, MD, and spans the 2026-2027 school year, from August 24th through May. The role requires 37.5 hours per week, providing essential communication access within an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver one-on-one sign language interpreting services to an elementary student transitioning into the district Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers Adapt interpreting methods to meet the student's unique needs and educational goals Collaborate with educational staff to support an inclusive learning environment

Qualifications and Experience:

EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 4.0 or above, or RID/NIC certification is required Candidates in the process of obtaining either certification are encouraged to apply Prior experience working in educational settings, specifically with 1:1 interpreting services, is preferred Strong knowledge of American Sign Language and Deaf culture
