Job Description

JOB Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a part-time American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter/Coordinator to provide and/or secure American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter services for staff and faculty in classes, meetings, events, and other college activities; adhere to the RID Code of Professional Conduct (www.rid.org); collaborate with College partners to develop and implement deaf awareness/interpreter awareness initiatives; lead monthly collaboration meetings; and assist with developing and updating interpreter policies and procedures. Schedule will vary based on assigned activities, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate Deaf/HOH faculty and staff.

Provides and/or secures ASL interpreting services for staff and faculty in classes, meetings, events and other college activities and adheres to the RID Code of Professional Conduct (www.rid.org)Collaborates with College partners to develop and implement Deaf Awareness / Interpreter Awareness initiatives and leads monthly meetings to improve knowledge and understanding of Deaf/HOH culture and communityAssists with developing and updating interpreter policies and proceduresCommits to ongoing professional development and CEUsPerforms other duties as assigned
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
This is a part-time position with sick and safe leave benefits. The schedule is variable and will include evenings and weekends as needed. The starting pay for this position will likely range from $30.87 to $37.87 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
