Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract This contract position in Williamsburg, MI, is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with expertise in American Sign Language to work in a school setting. The role involves supporting both the current and next school years on a full-time basis, requiring 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services for a first-grade student who has experienced severe language deprivation. Collaborate with educational staff to facilitate effective communication and language development. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures. Support the student's integration within the classroom environment through clear, accessible communication.

Qualifications and Experience:

Certified Sign Language Interpreter or Teacher of American Sign Language. Minimum EIPA score of 4.0 preferred; candidates with lower scores may be considered if a qualified mentor can provide supervision and sign off on temporary certification. Experience working with children who have language deprivation or similar challenges is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within an educational team.
