ASL Interpreter | Austin, Minnesota

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This full-time, on-site position is seeking an experienced Sign Language Interpreter to support an 11th-grade student during the 2022-2023 school year in Austin, Minnesota. The role offers an opportunity to work closely with one student in a 1:1 setting, interpreting all classes and fostering effective communication throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation for all academic classes attended by the student Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers to ensure full access to the curriculum Collaborate with educational staff to support the student's individual learning needs Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or Educational Interpreting Valid certification such as EIPA, RID, or NID is required Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred Strong understanding of deaf culture and communication techniques
