Desired Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with contemporary interpreting techniques National or state certification (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent) preferred Previous experience interpreting in educational or school settings Ability to accurately and impartially interpret spoken classroom content into ASL, and vice versa Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality Professionalism, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to student success

Key Responsibilities:

Provide interpreting services for students in classroom settings, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities Collaborate with teaching staff and support personnel to fully understand and convey lesson content and classroom discussion Support students' participation in classwork, instructions, peer interactions, and school functions Adapt interpreting style and vocabulary based on student needs, grade levels, and lesson complexity Uphold ethical standards and adhere to policies regarding confidentiality and student privacy Participate in relevant training, meetings, or student support teams as needed This role offers a meaningful way to make a difference in the educational journey of students while further honing your professional interpreting abilities in a supportive environment.
