Key Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and the ability to interpret fluently between ASL and English Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably K-12 Certification such as EIPA, RID, or state licensure (or eligibility) preferred Strong understanding of confidentiality and professionalism Ability to adapt communication style to meet student needs Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide real-time sign language interpretation in classroom and school activities Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers Interpret during meetings, events, and extracurricular programs as needed Assist in preparing or reviewing educational materials for accessibility Consult with school teams to support individual education plans (IEPs) Maintain clear documentation in alignment with district procedures
