ASL Interpreter - (2026-2027 school year)

Intermediate District 287 is looking for American Sign Language Interpreters for the 2026-2027 school year with our Itinerant Services! Intermediate District 287 serves students in grades K-12, as well as transition age students (18-22 years old), from our 12 member districts in the west metro area. Our district offers a wide range of services and specialized programs, primarily focused on setting IV special education, that is designed to meet the diverse needs of our students. Our American Sign Language Interpreters serve a critical role in ensuring full communication access within the educational environment between Deaf and Hard of Hearing students who use sign language and their teacher, the student's peers and other school personnel. This position serves as an integral member of the student's school-based team. Up to 35 hours per week Salary is based on Local 2209

Salary Schedule D:

Requirements:

Must have completed a training program affiliated with a state accredited educational institution AND hold one of either 1, 2, or 3. Pathway 1 An interpreter and/or transliterator certificate awarded by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID); OR A general level proficiency certificate at level 3 awarded by the National Association of the Deaf (NAD); OR Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) at the 4.0 level.
