Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Exciting opportunity for an experienced Sign Language Interpreter to support a high school senior for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract role is set in a welcoming and collaborative educational environment near Jaffrey, NH and is fully on-site. Your expertise will empower a 12th-grade student to access and excel within their academic and extracurricular experiences. In addition to interpreting, this student benefits from broader support, making your role both vital and dynamic.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with educational interpreting Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within a K-12 setting Ability to adapt communication styles to best support individual student needs Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, educators, and support staff Flexibility and sensitivity to protect the student's confidentiality and dignity at all times
Responsibilities:
Provide real-time ASL interpretation during classroom instruction, assemblies, and school activities Facilitate clear and effective communication between the student, peers, and faculty Offer additional support tailored to the student's unique social, emotional, or academic needs Assist educators and specialists in understanding and meeting accessibility needs Contribute to the overall classroom and school environment while fostering an inclusive atmosphere As a valued professional on this assignment, you'll be instrumental in creating a supportive and engaging educational experience for a student eager to succeed.
