Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Take your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter to the next level by supporting a high school student for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. This on-site, full-time contract role offers the opportunity to make a real difference, providing both sign language interpretation and additional support tailored to an incoming 12th-grade student with unique needs beyond traditional communication assistance.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as RID or EIPA) Demonstrated experience working in educational environments, preferably with secondary students Ability to adapt communication methods to meet both academic and personal support requirements Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with educators, staff, and families A compassionate, flexible approach to fostering student independence and success
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver clear and accurate sign language interpretation in classroom, group, and one-on-one settings Adapt interpreting strategies to various subjects and instructional environments Assist with additional student needs in alignment with the individualized education program (IEP) Partner with teachers, aides, and related service professionals to promote inclusive learning Serve as a positive role model, encouraging self-advocacy and engagement Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
