ILLUMINATE

in the math classroom. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Translator & Interpreter to support our virtual and in person workshops and programs on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in the English language & in either Spanish, Portuguese or Haitian Creole, able to seamlessly promote cross-cultural communication. You will be working closely with our Math Illuminators, Math Instructors, and Project Manager to ensure that all program and project deliverables, deadlines, and schedules are on track. Experience working in a startup culture is a plus. Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to) Translate accurately any written educational materials or slides into target language Support workshops, in person and virtual, by providing seamless interpretation services in target language to participants Attend mandatory monthly Curriculum Department meetings Attend internal meetings and dress rehearsals as necessary - evening flexibility expected Upon mutual agreement, accept additional responsibilities to support the team, contributing flexibly to the team's success Additional Expectations/Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a translator, particularly in educational settings. Experience with mathematics is a plus. Proficiency in English and target language (spanish or haitian creole). Strong linguistic skills, including grammar, syntax, and vocabulary. Adept at adapting content to resonate with different cultural and educational contexts. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with translation software and tools. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Effective communication skills for collaboration and coordination. Must be dressed in professional, casual attire Demonstrate reliability, punctuality and professional behavior at all times. Represent Fraser's Mathematics Solutions in the most positive manner with prospective, former, and current clients. Working Conditions Must have day and evening flexibility Must have reliable transportation - a valid driver's license highly preferred Periodic travel in NJ is expected for this role

HOURS :

As a contractor, you are scheduled on an as-needed basis. The need is highly dependent on client demand. While we deliver workshops all year long, there may be peak months where translators/interpreters are needed more than other months.
