Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into an impactful role supporting students' educational journeys as a Sign Language Interpreter with a reputable school network near Reno, NV. This full-time, contract opportunity spans the academic year from August 10, 2026, to June 3, 2027. You'll collaborate with staff and families to provide crucial access for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, ensuring they thrive in inclusive classroom environments. As a valued member of the educational team, your work will primarily take place in elementary settings, with occasional itinerant assignments to middle and high school campuses. Typically, you'll serve one to two students, translating spoken English into American Sign Language and facilitating clear, meaningful communication throughout the school day.
What We're Looking For:
National Certification in Sign Language Interpreting Educational Interpreter Performance (EIP) Assessment score of 3.5 or higher Prior experience in K-12 settings is highly desired Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to different age groups, with strong organizational skills Required fingerprint clearance and drug screening prior to placement Availability for a pre-screen interview, ideally between 9-11 a.m. or 2-3 p.m. EST (some schedule flexibility possible)
