Responsibilities Provide real-time interpretation services across various platforms, including phone, video, and in-person settings, ensuring seamless communication between parties. Facilitate conversations for medical appointments, legal proceedings, social services, community events, and other essential interactions. Accurately translate spoken or signed language into the target language while maintaining the original message's intent and tone. Adapt to different dialects, cultural nuances, and technical terminology to deliver precise interpretations. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards outlined by professional interpreting organizations and legal requirements. Collaborate with clients and organizations to schedule on-call sessions and respond promptly to interpretation requests. Keep detailed records of assignments, including date, duration, language pair, and context of each session. Skills Multilingual proficiency with fluency in at least two languages; additional languages are highly valued. Expertise in translation and interpretation techniques across spoken languages and American Sign Language (ASL). Strong communication skills with the ability to convey messages clearly and accurately under pressure. Deep understanding of linguistics principles to facilitate effective cross-cultural communication. Bilingual capabilities that enable smooth switching between languages during dynamic conversations. Excellent listening skills combined with quick thinking to interpret complex information accurately.
