Job Description

  • Position Overview
  • We are seeking qualified Educational Sign Language Interpreters to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students in a school setting in Dallas, TX.
In this role, you will facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff by interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa. This ensures students have full access to classroom instruction, activities, and educational discussions.

Schedule:
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

  • + •7 weeks remaining in the current school year•+ •40 weeks for the upcoming school year•+ •
Openings:
  • + •2 immediate openings•+ •12 additional openings for the next school year•Key Responsibilities•+ •Provide real-time ASL interpretation in classroom settings•+ •Facilitate communication between students, educators, and staff•+ •Support student participation in instructional and extracurricular activities•+ •Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of practice•+ •Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure student success•Minimum Requirements•+ •Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)•+ •Minimum of 1 year of interpreting experience•+ •Associate's or Bachelor's degree in interpreting, deaf studies, or a related field (preferred)•+ •BEI certification preferred•+ •EIPA, RID, or State Certification (as required by state or client)•+ •Must comply with professional standards of practice•+ •Current CPR certification, if applicable•+ •TB screening or chest X-ray, if required•+ •Current health certificate, if required•+ •Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements•+ •Must be at least 18 years of age•Interview Process•+ •Virtual interview with the Coordinator and Lead Sign Language Interpreter•+ •Candidates must be prepared to demonstrate signing skills•Compensation•
Local Candidates:
  • + •$40 per hour•
Travel Candidates:
