Field Service Technician I /
Lighting Controls Technician Location:
Emeryville, CA Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician / Lighting Controls Technician to support the installation, startup, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance of commercial lighting control systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working with lighting controls, electrical systems, and customer-facing field service environments. Candidates with experience from companies such as Pro Automated, Crestron, ETC, Wunderer Lighting, Acuity Brands, Lutron, or similar lighting controls and automation organizations are highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Install, commission, test, and troubleshoot lighting control systems. Perform startup and functional testing of lighting control equipment. Diagnose and resolve system and communication issues. Support customers on-site and provide technical assistance. Train end users on system operation and basic maintenance. Maintain accurate service reports and project documentation. Serve as the technical liaison between customers and internal teams. Deliver high-quality customer service and maintain strong client relationships. Travel daily within the assigned territory to support customer sites. Support multiple lighting control platforms and related products. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Electrical background with knowledge of circuits, low-voltage systems, and field troubleshooting. Experience with commercial lighting control systems and commissioning. Familiarity with electrical tools and test equipment such as: Digital multimeters LAN testers Network troubleshooting tools Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, BlueBeam, and CRM systems. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment. Willingness to travel locally on a daily basis.
