ABOUT
HALCYON PRODUCTIONS
For 23 years Halcyon Productions has been providing Entertainment lighting for special events in the mountain region of Colorado. We seek a Lead Lighting Technician (L1) to support live events. Event lighting production for weddings and medium to large special events. Full time position. Nights and weekends required. Some travel required. An outgoing personality, industry experience and knowledge of event logistics required. Most events are in the Aspen, Vail and the mountain areas of Western Colorado and beyond. Set up, operate, and tear down of professional lighting, rigging, equipment and power distribution. with a main focus on various types of events, parties, fundraisers and weddings. We keep our warehouse very organized, attention to detail is paramount in the warehouse. Our candidate will be required to;
  • Lifting/physical work as required/50 pounds max.
  • Operation of all aspects of lighting systems in a live environment.
  • Provide automated programming of lighting systems
  • Team leader for lighting systems on jobsites.
  • Manage and direct crew to accomplish jobsite goals.
  • Interact with clients and staff in a positive and professional manner to achieve client goals.
  • Work with warehouse team to manage, prep and pack, and restore fully the gear for live events The ability to work with all aspects of lighting is required, with a proven background and portfolio of successful shows and events in the corporate and entertainment world.
Candidates are expected to have experience with crew management and job site leadership skills. Candidate must also be able to successfully interact with clients on site, and maintain a professional demeanor. Candidate must have a portfolio of previous events, at least 5 years of professional experience in the corporate AV and events world, and have 3 positive references. Candidates that prove proper and safe setup, operation, and tear down of lighting and rigging are strongly favored, and will be moved up the ranks quickly. Loading and unloading of company vehicles when needed. Knowledge of the High End HOG 4 platform, as that is what we use. This is not an entry level position, and those without the required experience will not be considered. Candidates must take direction in terms of color choice, movement and overall look for very high profile events. This is not primarily "rock and roll" lighting so subtle color choices and punctual timing is extremely important.
