Job Description
Holiday Lighting Installer — Year-Round Lighting & Décor Crew | Mighty Bright Holiday Lights | Telluride, CO Mighty Bright Holiday Lights is hiring installers for our Telluride lighting and décor crew. This is a year-round position — most lighting jobs are seasonal, but ours isn't. We install Christmas lights, 4th of July décor, Halloween displays, wedding and event lighting, permanent LED lighting systems, bistro/patio lighting for restaurants, and commercial storefront décor. If it sparkles or glows, we hang it. Starting pay is $23.00 per hour with room to move up. You set your own schedule and pick up extra shifts when you want them. What You'll Do Install Christmas lights, holiday lights, and seasonal décor on rooflines, eaves, trees, shrubs, columns, and other surfaces Install patriotic décor (flags, bunting, lighting) for 4th of July Install Halloween and fall décor displays Set up lighting and décor for weddings, private parties, and corporate events Install permanent outdoor LED lighting systems (Jellyfish-style programmable lighting) Hang bistro/patio lighting and string lights for restaurants, bars, and storefronts Install commercial décor for local businesses, hotels, and shops Climb ladders and work safely at heights, including extension ladders at full extension Use basic hand tools and power tools (drills, clip guns, snips, screwdrivers) Run and secure light strands using clips, ties, and mounting hardware Test, troubleshoot, and repair light strands and electrical connections Load and unload company trucks; maintain clean, organized job sites Take down lighting and décor at the end of each season and pack it for storage Provide friendly, professional customer service to homeowners and business owners Required Qualifications Comfortable working on ladders at heights, including extension ladders at full extension Basic hand tool and power tool experience (drills, screwdrivers, snips, etc.) Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Willing to work outdoors in all weather (cold, snow, sun, wind, rain) Reliable transportation to job sites in and around Telluride Valid driver's license Dependable, on-time, and able to follow instructions Strong communication and customer service skills Preferred Qualifications (Not Required — Training Provided) Previous experience in holiday lighting, Christmas light installation, or outdoor lighting Experience in roofing, gutter installation, solar, electrical, or general construction Comfortable on steep pitched roofs Interest in learning low-voltage wiring and LED programming Bilingual (English/Spanish a plus) Eye for design (helpful for wedding and event work) Pay & Schedule Starting pay: $23.00 per hour with performance-based raises Hours vary by season — up to 40 hours per week with overtime during peak periods (October-December for Christmas; June-July for July 4th; weddings throughout summer/fall) Lighter part-time and on-call work between peak periods Choose your own schedule — let us know what you can work, we'll build around it Pick up extra shifts as they become available Benefits Year-round work available (rare in this industry) Flexible scheduling — set your own hours Paid training — no prior lighting experience required Room to grow into team lead or specialty installer roles Small, friendly crew — work outdoors in one of the most beautiful towns in Colorado About Mighty Bright Holiday Lights We're a Telluride-based lighting and décor company.
