Digitization Specialist E Logic Washington, DC Job Details Full-time From $60,000 a year 3 hours ago Qualifications Data visualization software proficiency Digital imaging Mapping software Public Cloud Windows Computer management Windows support Windows Server administration Desktop administration Data visualization projects Technical Proficiency Full Job Description E-logic is hiring Digitization Specialists to support a vital, multi-year imagery preservation and conversion mission for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Headquarters facility supporting to National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) as well. You will physically retrieve, handle, repair, and convert historical space-based and airborne film canisters into modern, high-resolution digital imagery formats utilized by warfighters worldwide.
Note:
This position operates across two balanced 8-hour shifts (0500-1300 and 1200-2000, Monday through Friday).
Key Responsibilities Archival Handling & Processing:
Safely retrieve, inspect, clean, repair, and digitize historical aerial and space-based film canisters while maintaining pristine archival integrity.
High-Speed Scanning:
Meet daily production targets (approx. 10 canisters per day on specialized equipment) and rapidly fulfill time-sensitive customer imagery requests.
Data Management & QA:
Generate, index, and condition specialized GEOINT file formats (TIFF, Geo
TIFF, NITF 2.1
). Execute rigorous quality assurance to ensure outputs adhere to precise naming conventions and repository structures.
Technical Operations:
Securely transfer and store data across local networks, enterprise tape storage systems, and cloud platforms while meticulously maintaining database logs.
Cleanroom Compliance:
Maintain strict environmental protection standards, including wearing complete cleanroom attire (lab coats, hair/beard covers, gloves, masks, and OSHA-compliant safety footwear) on the operations floor.
Qualifications & Requirements Security Clearance:
Must hold an active Top Secret clearance with immediate eligibility for SCI access.
Experience:
Direct, hands-on experience processing historical space-based and airborne imagery.
Technical Proficiencies:
Familiarity with long-roll film, microfilm, or microfiche scanners (e.g., NextScan Meridian Dragon/FlexScan, Leica DSW700, Phoenix, CopiBook). Intermediate Windows OS administration and familiarity with GEOINT/Data visualization tools (e.g., ENVI, ArcGIS, NextStar, IrfanView, GDAL). Knowledge of enterprise tape systems (Oracle StorageTek, HPE) and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Physical & Environmental Standards:
Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs, stand for long durations, bend, kneel, work at elevated heights, and display excellent color distinction across various film types.
Training:
Must be willing to complete mandatory Data Transfer Officer (DTO) training and pass an internal NextScan OEM certification within 60 days of hire.
