Open until filled Position Function Under the general supervision of the high school principal or designee, manages and maintains the auditorium and oversees the technical elements of all events taking place in the auditorium. Essential Functions Trains, supervises, and schedules a cadre of student technicians to assist with the technical aspects of events in the auditorium. Manages and maintains all aspects of the auditorium, control booths, lighting coves, concessions, ticket office, dressing rooms, scene shop, and storage rooms. Ability to coordinate design elements of productions: set design and construction, lighting, costumes, props, makeup, and sound. Knowledge of professional standards of stage safety. Schedules and coordinates all events in the auditorium (district events and external requests). Schedules and supervises technical crews for events in the auditorium. Inventories and maintains all equipment in the auditorium. Manage all ticketing and box office operations. Ensure staff in the box office is adequately trained in all facets of job duties. Ensure appropriate supervision and separation of duties where practical to minimize risk of fraud. Performs other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Superintendent or his or her designee may assign. Sponsors the high school drama club and chapter of the International Thespian Society, an honor society for theater students. Organizes, plans, and directs the respective play including being responsible for: a. All publicity and programs b. Costume and properties rental and purchase c. Lighting and sound design and application d. Set design and construction e. Securing ushers f. Organizing and managing ticket sales g. Developing a rehearsal schedule h. Any other duty necessary to the success of a production.

Uses tools or equipment with expertise acquired through vocational experience and/or specialized training. Specialized equipment also includes audio, video, and lighting consoles. Ability to learn and utilize office equipment, computers, and software especially as systems are upgraded. Ability to learn and upgrade job skills in order to meet changing demands of the position. Ability to react well under pressure, handle and balance multiple demands at one time, work with frequent interruptions, and perform duties and tasks at expected levels of professionalism. Extensive knowledge of and ability to perform duties in full compliance with all district, Board of Education, state and federal laws, methods, requirements, policies, procedures, and activities pertinent to the duties of this position. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to use independent judgment and demonstrates initiative to act without being asked. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Lifting all types of weight occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Strength:

Active/Heavy - Exert force to 50 pounds occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.

Qualifications Profile:

BA preferred with a background in the area of technical theater. Successful work experience in one or more of the following areas: Leadership skills, social work, community education, theater or community resources. Knowledge of and experience in working with counterweight systems, light boards, sound systems and computers. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position. (Hours of the job will vary and flex depending on performance schedule. During student performances, Saturdays and Sundays are required, as are evening rehearsals lasting until approximately 10 p.m. During "rental" performances, performance requirements can last until midnight during the week and on both Saturdays and Sundays.) Salary:
