Groton Hill Music Center, 122 Old Ayer Rd, Groton, MA, 01450 Groton Hill Music Center is the region's premier nonprofit center for outstanding music education, professional performances, andmunity engagement programs. Our Music School offers lessons in 30+ instruments and voices for all ages in all musical styles with a faculty of 90+ professional teaching artists. We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Audio Intern to join our production team for an uing two-week musical theater intensive. This is a "boots-on-the-ground" role w you'll gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced theatrical environment, working directly with professional gear and a youth cast. If you know your way around a digital soundboard, we want to hear from you.Qualifications:
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Be the playback operator and primary board operator of the venue's Yamaha digital console for a production of the musical, 13 Jr. Control levels and mutes for 16 performer wireless microphones, spot mics, and all playback cues throughout the production. Trigger sound cue playback and performer mute/unmutes at the direction of the Director and Stage Manager's cueing. This will require consistent focus for periods of 75-90 minutes at a time. Assist with fitting and securing body packs and earset or lavalier microphones for a large youth cast, as directed by the Stage Manager and A2. Rapidly identify and resolve issues, such as noise, interference, or incorrect channels during rehearsals. Conduct daily pre-show tests to verify that all mics and cues are functioning as anticipated. Follow the guidance of the venue's technical staff for use of venue and rental equipment throughout the production. Exhibit patience and maintain a professional demeanor when working with a youth cast. Show a genuine interest in musical theater and an appreciation for the dynamic environment of live performance.QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates should have a minimum of 1-2 years of AV experience and befortable using a digital audio console and a laptop-based playback setup.Non-Discrimination Policy:
