Job Description

Job Summary Cascades Theatrical is looking for a Theatre Technician, who would be responsible for all aspects of the theatre including set building, technical and conceptual design, sound control, lighting and maintenance for the entire building. We are looking for a highly dependable and organized individual, who is skilled in carpentry and building theatre sets for our productions. Some of the main duties will be, but are not limited to, maintaining a workshop, building and tearing down sets, obtaining or creating special props, supervising volunteers, assure all equipment is running properly. This position requires a highly responsible and organized individual, who has knowledge of working with technical programs and understands the complexities of staging scenic designs and the many nuances that is required to put on a show. This person will report directly to the Executive/Artistic Director. This is a full-time, salaried position. Your expertise will help create captivating performances that inspire and entertain audiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work behind the scenes in a fast-paced environment where creativity and technical skill collide to produce unforgettable experiences.
Duties:
  • The primary role involves creating scenic construction.
  • Addressing any necessary minor maintenance tasks and keeping the building in good shape.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Meets with Production Crew, Sound Techs & Directors.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule and some occasional weekends as business demands.
  • Be able to coordinate with other team members.
  • Maintain a budget.
  • Good decision-making skills.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Excepts deliveries.
  • Keep inventory and supplies up-to-date.
  • Further responsibilities will be assisting with general upkeep such as cleaning, organizing, and any other assignment as needed.
Experience with stage lighting
Requirements:
  • Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid DL.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to meet business demands.
  • Strong dependability.
  • Technically inclined person.
  • Building experience
  • Have excellent time-management skills.
  • Some Tech Program Computer knowledge or an aptitude to learn technical computer programs.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Creativity and some knowledge of theatrical productions.
  • Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stoop, bend, twist, stand and sit.
  • Be able to roll with the punches.
  • Experience with stage lighting A passion for providing excellent work with a cooperative attitude.
Proven experience with theatre production technology or related fields such as videography or film production. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, Lightroom. Skilled in video editing with Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro; experience with post-production workflows is essential. Knowledge of lighting design principles and sound engineering techniques. Ability to operate filming equipment and manage on-site videography projects effectively. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse team members. Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with Adobe InDesign for program design or promotional materials. General construction accepted, set construction preferred. Training available. This individual must be available to work Monday - Friday and occasional show nights. Schedule will be intermittent, which entails working 10 to 11-months a year, 5 days a week, our off-season is during the summer months (typically late June - early August).
