- $400 a day 8 hours ago Qualifications Lighting control system operation Cross-functional collaboration Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Position Overview Upstage Companies is seeking a local skilled, adaptable, and team-oriented Production Lighting Technician to support live event production to work at Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City and help bring creative lighting applications to life.
This role is ideal for a lighting professional who combines strong technical knowledge with a collaborative attitude and thrives in fast-paced production environments. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating lighting systems, troubleshooting under pressure, and working closely with designers, technicians, and production staff to deliver exceptional experiences for clients and audiences alike. Key Responsibilities Operate lighting consoles during rehearsals, live events, and productions Patch and configure lighting systems using DMX and sACN networking protocols Assist in the setup, programming, testing, and operation of lighting equipment Collaborate with lighting designers, production managers, and other crew members to execute the artistic and technical vision of each event Troubleshoot lighting and networking issues quickly and effectively Adapt to changing production requirements, schedule adjustments, and last-minute revisions Maintain a professional and positive presence while working with clients, performers, and fellow crew members Follow company safety standards and best practices during load-ins, rehearsals, and show operations Required Qualifications Working knowledge of professional lighting consoles and control systems Understanding of DMX and sACN patching and distribution workflows Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to remain calm and effective in dynamic, high-pressure environments Excellent communication and collaboration skills Positive attitude and willingness to receive feedback and creative direction Professionalism, reliability, and genuine respect for cast, crew, clients, and collaborators Must live local and be able to travel into downtown SLC each day for work Preferred Qualifications Experience operating ETC lighting consoles Background in theatrical, live event, corporate, concert, or broadcast lighting Familiarity with lighting networking and system troubleshooting Experience working in touring or fast-paced production environments Code of Conduct The following candidates need to adhere to the following code conduct as a professional while on site at

Pay Range:
$300-400
- Day Rate Shifts & Schedule Initial scope of job: June
- August, 2026 o (There is a possibility of this role turning into a 12-18 month long position) 4 days a week
- normal week would be Tuesday through Friday Hours will vary based on needs, weather and project timelines Evenings & weekends as needed
