Job Description

Overview We are seeking a Vocal Director for our upcoming theatre production, RENT, performing mid June 2026. This energetic role requires a talented individual who can craft compelling vocal arrangements, guide rehearsals with enthusiasm, and foster a positive, collaborative environment. As the Vocal Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the musical and emotional impact of the production, ensuring every performer shines on stage. Responsibilities Develop and refine vocal arrangements tailored to the cast's strengths and the creative team's artistic vision Lead vocal rehearsals, providing clear instruction, motivation, and constructive feedback to performers of all ages and skill levels. Collaborate closely with the director, choreographer, and producer to ensure seamless integration of vocals with choreography and staging. Conduct voice training sessions focusing on technique, diction, projection, and emotional expression Manage vocal health and safety by advising on proper warm-up routines and addressing any vocal concerns promptly Requirements Proven experience in curriculum development for vocal training or music education programs Strong background in teaching singing techniques across diverse age groups. Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment during rehearsals Familiarity with theater production processes and musical theatre repertoire Knowledge of voice care practices and injury prevention for singers Skills in working with individuals of varying skill levels.
Pay:
$23.00 - $27.00 per hour
