As assigned, responsibilities include: (1) Teaching classes in stagecraft, scenography, lighting, elementary scenic design, and theatre production. (2) Additional teaching of classes in theatre appreciation, dramatic literature, and/or theatre history. (3) Scenic and Lighting Design and/or design supervision responsibilities for up to six productions per year. (6) Assist department chair by assuming principal responsibility for overseeing program coordination and technical support for a four hundred seat proscenium theatre and a one hundred seat studio theatre. The successful candidate will also participate in departmental planning, program evaluation, student recruitment, and liaisons with secondary and four-year institutions, and other routine operations of the Theatre Arts Department, including department chair responsibilities on a rotational basis. Specific assignments will be based upon training, experience, and an assessment of the personal interview. Other responsibilities include participation in the governance of the college via committee assignments, maintenance of a sufficient number of office hours to meet student needs, involvement in activities designed to improve teaching and particularly the application of technology to the instructional process. The assignment for this position will include teaching evening classes and weekend responsibilities.
