Job Description
The Director of Creative Media and Sports Information plays a central role in advancing how Knox College Athletics tells its story, while preserving the core responsibilities of a traditional sports information operation. This position is designed to modernize digital storytelling, visual content, and audience engagement while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with conference and NCAA standards.

ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Creative Media and Sports Information is responsible for leading all sports information functions, while developing and executing a creative media strategy that enhances the visibility, engagement, and storytelling of Knox College Athletics. Lead and coordinate athletics communications and game operations, including statistics, reporting, record keeping, conference and NCAA submissions, game-day scoring and data accuracy, and coordination of live video streaming for home contests. Manage the athletics website and social media platforms, ensuring timely updates, brand consistency, and effective engagement with prospective students, families, alumni, and the campus community. Support the development and execution of creative media initiatives, including digital content, photography, video, and visual storytelling that helps share the Knox Athletics experience and connect audiences with Prairie Fire programs. Collaborate closely with coaches, athletic administration, and campus partners such as the Office of Communications, identifying storytelling opportunities and supporting program visibility and communication priorities. Hire, train, and supervise student workers and game-day staff, fostering a professional environment that develops practical skills in sports information, media production, and event operations. Ensure professionalism, accuracy, and compliance with Knox brand standards and institutional, conference, and NCAA Division III requirements in all communications and published materials. Model strong communication, organization, and adaptability, contributing to a collaborative and student-centered athletics department culture.
In addition to the core coaching responsibilities outlined above, this position may be assigned Additional Assignments that extend beyond the primary coaching role. These supplemental administrative, leadership, or programmatic responsibilities are based on departmental needs and individual skill sets, are reviewed annually, and will be documented through a separate annual assignment letter or addendum outlining scope, duration, and any associated compensation or workload adjustment.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field from four-year college or university, or Associates Degree with equivalent experience. Understanding of statistical software (NCAA Genius, Statcrew, or PrestoStats) Experience creating and managing content across social media platforms and familiarity with live streaming technology (such as FloSports, BoxCast, Pixellot, or similar platforms). Strong written and verbal communications skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Valid Drivers License Sound judgement and ability to work effectively with diverse populations and a commitment to NCAA, MWC, and Knox College rules and regulations.Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree or progress towards a graduate degree in a related field. Experience working with NCAA athletics, preferably at the Division III level. Demonstrated ability to produce short-form video and digital storytelling content. Familiarity with graphic design principles, branding standards, and engagement strategies. Experience supervising and mentoring student workers, interns, or creative teams. Experience with AI generative software.Summary Pay Range:
