Job Description

City Church is a multi-ethnic, multi-economic, multi-generational church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, seeking to hire a full-time Production Director to the 2nd fastest growing church in America according to Outreach Magazine. The role of the Production Director is to oversee the technical production elements (Audio & Video) for the in-person and livestream experience. This will require a firm grasp of the beliefs, values, and strategy of City Church and the ability to align staff and key volunteer teams with its mission, vision, and values. The Production Director will lead all components of worship production including audio, video, lighting, livestream, and creative elements. The Production Director will be responsible for: 1. Modeling Biblical Priorities Responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and core values of City Church. The Production Director should represent a growing personal relationship with Christ. The Production Director models a strong relationship with his or her spouse (if married) and children (if applicable). The Production Director strives to fulfill his or her purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships, and actions.
These objectives are accomplished by:
Committing to a daily quiet-time with God. Participating in a City Church small group on a regular basis. Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity. Supporting the ministries of City Church by faithfully giving at least 10% of gross income. Adhering to and encompassing the qualities and characteristics required of City Church employees, as defined by the Staff Handbook. 2. Technical Direction Responsible for overseeing all production elements on a Sunday morning including FOH audio, lighting, livestream audio and video, lyrics, and video technology. This includes being present for Thursday night worship rehearsals. Responsible for inventory, gear and asset management, purchasing, general troubleshooting and maintenance of production gear (audio & video). Responsible for overseeing and managing the Production budget and adhering to the guidelines for expenses and purchases. Responsible for providing production support for other ministries. Audio/Visual Management Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of all audio, visual, and lighting equipment for services, events and productions Ensure high-quality sound and video output for both live audiences and online streaming Manage recording, post production and distribution of weekly sermon videos and content, weekly worship sets and other church media content Technical Maintenance and Upgrades Maintain an inventory of all technical equipment and ensure it is in good working order. Research and recommend upgrades or new equipment to enhance the church s technical capabilities Coordinate with vendors for equipment purchases, repairs, and maintenance Budget Management Develop and manage the technical ministry budget in collaboration with church leadership. Ensure cost-effective use of resources and stay within budgetary constraints 3. Volunteer and Staff Supervision and Development Responsible for providing leadership to the Production team. The Production Director leads and recruits the production volunteer team and prioritizes future staffing needs.
Includes the following responsibilities:
Recruit, train and supervise volunteer technical team members Schedule and coordinate volunteers for services and events Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of the production and technical teams Heart and calling for using technology to reach people for Christ 4. IT Support for Staff Provides Technical Support to all staff, employees and volunteers during normal business hours and during services Installs, maintains & updates all IT inventory including personal computers, devices, network equipment & peripherals such as multifunction printers, scanners and check-in equipment Knowledge of modern computer operating systems Understanding and proficiency of network technologies and processes Self-starting & coachable attitude with a willingness to grow, learn and adapt to changing technologies Experience At least 5 years of experience in the following: o Digital audio mixing in either broadcast or studio environment o Digital audio mixing live front of house o Professional lighting Experience overseeing and managing a volunteer team of 20+ individuals Proven experience in managing Audio & Visual for a large in-person experience (1000+ Auditorium) Previous experience scaling a ministry s audio & visual capabilities to meet the needs of a growing church. This is a full-time position that is eligible for benefits. City Church pays 100% of health benefit premiums for full-time team members.
