Monday-Friday Position Summary Nourse Farms is a leading player in the plant propagation industry, known for our commitment to excellence in providing high-quality plant stock. The Senior Commercial Manager is the most senior commercial leadership role within Nourse Farms and is responsible for leading the organization's strategic sales, customer growth, commercial planning, and business development efforts across North America. This role is designed for a hands-on, results-driven commercial leader with deep agriculture industry experience and a proven ability to build relationships, lead teams, grow revenue, and create long-term strategic value. The Senior Commercial Manager will oversee key commercial initiatives including strategic account management, sales funnel development, market expansion, customer retention, and commercial team leadership while helping position Nourse Farms as a trusted industry partner and market leader. Working cross-functionally with Production, Operations, Agronomy, Marketing, Finance, and Executive Leadership, this individual will help shape the future direction of the commercial organization while ensuring the customer experience aligns with the Nourse Farms brand promise from first interaction through post-sale support. This role requires a leader who understands agriculture markets, customer production cycles, sales strategy, and relationship-driven business development while maintaining a strong operational mindset focused on accountability, communication, execution, and long-term growth. Built from the foundation of the Commercial Accounts Manager role while significantly expanding leadership, strategic oversight, and commercial responsibilities, this position represents a critical next step in the evolution and growth of the Nourse Farms commercial organization. Commercial Leadership & Strategy Lead and oversee all commercial sales and account management efforts across the organization Develop and execute strategic commercial growth plans aligned with company objectives and long-term business goals Establish and manage commercial performance metrics, pipeline tracking, forecasting processes, and account growth initiatives Build scalable sales funnel strategies focused on lead generation, customer retention, account expansion, and new market development Identify emerging market opportunities, customer trends, and industry shifts that can support future growth initiatives Collaborate with Executive Leadership to help shape commercial priorities, revenue objectives, and strategic direction Serve as a senior ambassador for the Nourse Farms brand across customers, industry associations, trade events, and strategic partnerships Strategic Account Management With the CEO, support the organization's highest-value commercial relationships while ensuring exceptional customer engagement and long-term partnership development Develop deep strategic relationships with key growers, distributors, retailers, and commercial stakeholders Maintain a strong understanding of customer operations, production planning cycles, market pressures, and growth objectives Oversee strategic account planning initiatives focused on retention, growth, and customer lifetime value Support the development of customized solutions and value-added programs that strengthen long-term customer relationships Reinforce the Nourse Farms value proposition through proactive communication, operational alignment, and commercial leadership Business Development & Revenue Growth Drive new business development initiatives across existing and emerging markets Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities that align with organizational capabilities and growth objectives Lead high-value sales conversations, negotiations, and long-term commercial partnership discussions In collaboration with the CEO, CAO, and CMO, support pricing strategy, market positioning, and commercial planning efforts Build and maintain a robust commercial sales pipeline with clear visibility into opportunities, risks, and growth potential Contribute to customer acquisition strategies that strengthen market penetration and overall commercial performance Team Leadership & Development Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching, and oversight to the commercial team including relationship managers, account specialists, and support personnel Foster a high-performance, customer-focused commercial culture built on accountability, communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement Support employee development through coaching, strategic guidance, and performance management Assist in the development of internal sales processes, communication standards, and customer engagement best practices Help align cross-functional teams to ensure consistent execution of commercial objectives and customer expectations Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Production, Operations, Logistics, Agronomy, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Support teams to ensure strong organizational alignment Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support inventory planning, forecasting, customer communication, and seasonal demand management Provide market intelligence and customer insights that support product planning, operational decision-making, and business strategy Ensure commercial activities align with operational capabilities and customer service expectations Support CRM, ERP, and commercial reporting initiatives to improve visibility, efficiency, and customer engagement Industry Leadership & Brand Representation Represent Nourse Farms professionally at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, conferences, and networking opportunities Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitive activity, agricultural market conditions, and customer challenges Help position Nourse Farms as a trusted thought leader and long-term strategic partner within the agriculture industry Support initiatives that strengthen brand reputation, customer trust, and market differentiation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred 7-10+ years of progressive sales leadership, commercial management, or strategic account management experience Proven leadership experience within agriculture, horticulture, nursery, produce, greenhouse, controlled environment agriculture, or related agribusiness sectors strongly preferred Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, customer retention, pipeline development, and strategic business expansion Strong understanding of agribusiness production sectors, agricultural commodities, crop inputs, propagation, or commercial growing operations Experience leading and mentoring commercial or sales teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills Proven ability to manage complex customer relationships and high-value commercial accounts Commercially minded with strong strategic thinking and business development capabilities Strong organizational, forecasting, analytical, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in CRM, ERP, Microsoft Office Suite, and commercial reporting systems Ability to travel as required for customer visits, industry events, and commercial meetings Passion for agriculture, customer
