Job Description

Commercial Lines Broker

What You'll Be Doing:
Build and grow a network of commercial lines agency and brokerage distribution partners in the Maryland territory Leverage your existing book of business and relationships to appoint new distribution partners aligned with an exclusive distribution model Meet regularly with agency and brokerage partners to drive new business across small, mid, and large commercial markets Review competitor plans with underwriting to ensure competitive pricing and positioning Lead new business proposal meetings and present commercial lines solutions to key agency partners Coordinate the onboarding and contracting of new agencies and brokers Lead the annual planning process and conduct pre-renewal discussions with key accounts Maintain agency and broker profiles and represent the company at industry and corporate events Mileage and business entertainment expenses fully reimbursed
What You Bring:
Minimum 5 years of commercial insurance experience in Marketing, Sales, Production Underwriting, Distribution, or Relationship Management An established book of business and credibility in the Maryland market
  • this is a must Deep knowledge of commercial lines products, coverages, rating procedures, and market dynamics specific to Delaware and Maryland A track record of successfully selling and growing standard commercial lines in your territory Strong relationship management, negotiation, and analytical skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Outlook, Word, and Excel Active P&C license or willingness to obtain one within a defined timeline Bachelor's degree preferred
The Package:
$85,000
  • 115,000 base salary Quarterly and annual incentive opportunity
  • commission potential up to 50% of base in year one 401(k) with dollar-for-dollar match up to 8% with immediate vesting + growing employer contribution over 15 years Mileage and entertainment expenses covered Maryland Territory
  • Field-based with initial in-person training in New Jersey This is a brand-new territory with no existing book
