This leadership role is responsible for program development, staff supervision, community engagement, member retention, and department budgeting while supporting the YMCA's mission of strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and evaluate wellness, fitness, sports, and aquatics programs for all ages. Oversee wellness programming, competitive swim team operations, and specialty sports programs. Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate wellness staff and volunteers. Maintain a safe, welcoming environment and ensure compliance with YMCA standards and certifications. Monitor program participation, prepare reports, and implement member engagement and retention strategies. Manage department budgets, revenues, and expenses to meet financial goals. Support YMCA fundraising efforts, annual campaigns, special events, and community outreach initiatives. Build relationships with members, community organizations, volunteers, and stakeholders. Serve as a member of the YMCA leadership team and support organizational goals. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Health, Fitness, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum two years of experience in program management and staff supervision. Personal training and/or group exercise certifications required. CPR/AED certification required (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or ASHI). ACE Certification or equivalent preferred (required within 60 days of hire). Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management systems.
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
