About this Position The Director of Early Settlement Mediation is responsible for the coordination of mediation services in Oklahoma County working with the state court system and local communities in Oklahoma County. This position provides leadership in the development and adaption of the program throughout Oklahoma County, proactively manages staff and volunteers, resolves impediments influencing timely service delivery, creates and sustains relationships with internal and external partners. Ensures the Early Settlement Mediation team possesses the necessary knowledge and skills. Actively works with the Public Service academic program to create opportunities for students within a public service career path to increase retention and in building a skilled workforce through mediation training.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in counseling, public service, justice, education and/or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
2 - 5 years' experience in conflict resolution, settlement mediation or counseling, mediation certification and/or education and practical experience in public service. Supervisory experience, budgeting, programmatic reporting and case management Certifications, Registrations, and/or
Licenses:
Must have a current driver's license. Skills, Proficiencies, and/or
Knowledge:
Provide mediation services to reduce burden on the courts system and improving outcomes for the people seeking early settlement resolutions. Demonstrated ability to work with and manage community volunteer mediators. Demonstrated ability to build a coalition of providers to provide coordinated services and ability to direct outcomes in a team environment. Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately. Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, fax machines, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook). Demonstrated ability to multi-task, maintain deadlines, ensure confidentiality, prioritize, make solid judgments, and problem-solve. Be an active listener and possess excellent communication skills. Ability to self-manage and identify areas of need and complete day-to-day activities. Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism. Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education:
Master's degree in relevant field/or work experience in Conflict Resolution. Preferred Skills, Proficiencies, and/or
Knowledge:
Knowledge of Grant management, budget development and reporting.
