Operations US-PA-Lancaster-81 Overview ITT Engineered Valves, LLC is seeking a Director of Production for its Lancaster, PA facility. This role leads the day to day operations of a union based production facility, providing direction and coordination across key manufacturing and support teams. The position carries full responsibility for driving performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while partnering closely with union employees and frontline leadership to ensure a productive, compliant, and high performing environment. Through strong leadership and collaboration, this individual ensures smooth operations, continuous improvement, and alignment with overall business goals. Responsibilities Sets manufacturing objectives and develops action plans to achieve production targets across multiple product lines, with a strong focus on continuous improvement Monitors key business metrics including revenue, cost, productivity, and performance to drive financial and operational results Leads process and operational improvements to enhance product quality, reduce labor content, improve workflow, and eliminate non value added activities Evaluates and optimizes workforce planning to align manpower with production and sales demands Establishes performance metrics for departments, analyzes results, and drives corrective actions to address gaps and improve outcomes Reviews production and operating reports to proactively resolve manufacturing, maintenance, and operational issues while minimizing cost and delays Leads hiring, training, and performance management of team members, including recognition and disciplinary actions as needed Drives implementation of modern manufacturing practices, systems, and workforce strategies Assesses plant equipment and recommends upgrades and capital investments to support operational efficiency Facilitates continuous improvement initiatives and meetings, ensuring activities are documented and tracked Collaborates with Sales, Customer Service, and customers to resolve delivery, lead time, and product related challenges Ensures compliance with company, national, and local EHS standards, promoting a strong culture of safety and accountability Maintains product quality standards by ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and leading root cause analysis and corrective actions with internal teams and suppliers Manages production schedules, work assignments, and capacity planning to meet customer demand and ensure on time delivery Maintains accountability for inventory across raw materials, work in process, and finished goods, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business targets Communicates company policies clearly and ensures compliance with operational standards while fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment Partners with leadership and cross functional teams to coordinate departmental activities and drive alignment across the plant Supports positive labor relations by addressing employee concerns and working closely with Human Resources on workforce matters Motivates and engages employees to achieve performance goals and drive a high performing culture Develops operational plans and shipment forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis Manages departmental budgets, monitors performance against plan, and takes action to meet financial targets Contributes to the company's strategic planning process by aligning operations objectives with broader business goals Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders across different levels of the organization to support overall business success Supervisory Responsibilities Direct reports include the Production Manager, Customer Service Manager, Materials Manager, Facilities and Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Product Design Engineering Manager, Nuclear Quality Manager, and QA Manager. This role provides overall leadership, direction, and coordination across these functions. Responsible for executing management and supervisory duties in alignment with company policies and applicable laws, including hiring, onboarding, and developing employees. Oversees work planning, assignment, and execution, while driving performance management through regular feedback, recognition, and corrective actions. Also addresses employee concerns, resolves issues, and fosters a collaborative and accountable work environment. Qualifications To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential responsibility effectively. A strong understanding of manufacturing processes is required, along with demonstrated experience leading teams across multiple functions. Experience in a union production environment is preferred. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field from an accredited four year institution Seven to ten years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Proven leadership experience managing cross functional teams within a manufacturing environment Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, technical documents, and regulatory guidelines Strong written communication skills, including reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation Ability to clearly present information and respond to questions from leadership, customers, and cross functional teams Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as probability, statistical analysis, and basic trigonometry Comfort working with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical applications Reasoning Ability Strong problem solving skills with the ability to define issues, gather and analyze data, and draw sound conclusions Ability to interpret complex technical information and manage both abstract and concrete variables Demonstrated analytical thinking and decision making capabilities Technical and Computer Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel Ability to navigate and utilize business systems and custom software in a Windows based environment Physical Demands This role requires regular standing, walking, and communication Frequent use of hands for handling, reaching, and operating equipment Occasional activities such as bending, kneeling, or crouching Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds as needed Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Work Environment Work is performed in a manufacturing setting with a moderate noise level The environment reflects typical plant conditions, with a combination of office and production floor exposure Equal employment opportunity, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
