Assistant Professor of Theatre and Artistic Director of Theatre

The School of Arts & Humanities at Milligan University invites applications for the full-time, tenure-track positionof Assistant Professor of Theatre and Artistic Director of Theatre . This is a nine-month faculty position (paid over 12 months) withan anticipated start in August 2026. Primary teaching responsibilities will include courses in acting, directing, and thehistory and literature of theatre. Additional responsibilities will include directing main-stage theatrical productions, supervisingstudent-led initiatives and productions, recruiting high-quality students locally and regionally, exhibiting a collegial andinterdisciplinary spirit in collaborating with other campus colleagues and programs, and establishing and maintaining mutually beneficialrelationships with high school and community theatre programs. A desire and ability to integrate faith and learning in a liberal artsenvironment is essential.

Qualifications:

Candidates should hold an MFA and/or Ph.D. in Theater (ABD may beconsidered), have a record of directing and stage performance experience, knowledge of the professional theatre world, and successfulteaching experience. Candidates should also demonstrate a strong Christian faith and commitment to Milligan's mission as a Christian liberalarts university.
